EPV SOLAR, Inc., Announces Creation of Business Segment and Addition to Management Team

February 06, 2008 - Robbinsville, NJ, USA:

EPV SOLAR, Inc. (formerly Energy Photovoltaics, Inc.), a leading thin-film photovoltaic module manufacturer headquartered in New Jersey, USA, announced today a new line of business and continued strengthening of the company’s management team.

“EPV SOLAR is currently driving aggressive capacity expansion in order to meet multi-hundred megawatt production commitments through 2010,” said EPV SOLAR’s CEO, Scott T. Massie. He continued, “As we do so, we see strong market pull for higher value-add turnkey solutions in the Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) segment of the renewable energy market. We have created a new management position to provide appropriate focus and leadership in this key market. I am pleased to announce the addition of Kenneth W. McCauley to our team as General Manager of BIPV Business. This is one more step that EPV SOLAR is taking to fulfill its plan to be a world-class leader in thin-film solar products.”

Anthony Morali, registered architect and board member of the New York Society of Architects, commented on the future of BIPV and the increasing role of photovoltaic glass: “Integrating energy-producing glass into building design and facades is the way of the future. EPV SOLAR’s product is the ideal choice for architects interested in renewable energy because it lends itself to architectural integration and because the modules are aesthetically appealing. This product has tremendous potential, and EPV SOLAR’s creation of this business unit indicates the company’s commitment to developing that potential.”

Ken brings to EPV SOLAR over 25 years of experience in developing market-leading positions across a broad spectrum of publicly traded and venture-capital-funded companies. He began his career at AT&T Microelectronics in Process and Applications Engineering, then moved into International Business Development and joint-venture roles that included Asia/Pacific expatriate experience while a resident of China and Japan. Prior to joining EPV SOLAR, Mr. McCauley was Vice President of Sales & Marketing at NanoOpto Corporation, which was acquired in 2007. He previously held Vice President positions with International Quantum Epitaxy (London AIM) and Anadigics (NASDAQ) as well as key leadership roles with Lucent Microelectronics. Mr. McCauley holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Bucknell University and an MBA from the University of Richmond.

EPV SOLAR announced $77.5 million of new financing in June 2007 for the purpose of expanding its thin-film photovoltaic module manufacturing capacity. EPV SOLAR plans to expand its annual module manufacturing capacity by approximately 85 MW in each of the next several years. Several countries and states in the USA are in negotiation with EPV SOLAR to be the site for manufacturing capacity expansion. Founded in 1991, EPV SOLAR develops its own manufacturing equipment for the production of high-performance, low-cost, amorphous-silicon thin-film photovoltaic modules and products. In October, EPV SOLAR received the New Jersey Clean Energy Manufacturer of the Year Award for its leadership role in growing the market for clean energy technologies. Earlier in the year, EPV SOLAR received the Euromoney and Ernst & Young Global Renewable Energy Award; Equity Deal of the Year in Technology for 2007, which recognizes achievement for driving growth in the renewable energy industry sector.
